Earth Day Scratch PSA
For today’s Digital Skill, we’ll be using Scratch to create an interactive Earth Day Public Service Announcement (PSA) to share a message about climate action or protecting the oceans. PSAs are videos created to raise awareness and change public attitudes and behaviour toward a social issue.
Today our theme concentrates on goal 14 of the UN SDGs: Life Below Water
https://www.undp.org/content/undp/en/... Healthy oceans and seas are essential to our existence. They cover 70 percent of our planet and we rely on them for food, energy and water. Yet, we have managed to do tremendous damage to these precious resources. We must protect them by eliminating pollution and overfishing and immediately start to responsibly manage and protect all marine life around the world. Goal 14 has several targets to create action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans.
Eco Footprint Scratch Game Part 3
In this video we learn how to code if statements and make decision trees. In part 2 we a question, now we will code what the answer means. By the end of this video you will have completed creating the first ‘room’ in your Eco Footprint game. This is part 3 of a 5 part video series.
In this video, discover how to blend the visual art of calligraphy with binary code. Create inspirational messages or call to actions written in binary code related to the UN SDGs.
Eco Footprint Scratch Game Part 2
In this video we learn how to code variables and take our first steps using the sprite and backgrounds built in Part 1 of this series. You will create multiple variables that will build your Eco Footprint. This is part 2 of a 5 part video series.
Musical Sonic Pi
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to create your own unique piece of music? What emotions or themes will your music send to others?
In today's digital skill, we will create a piece of music with new and different sounds in whatever style you choose. Many different effects can be used and the choices of sounds, sequences, amplitudes and variances will create a unique piece that you can share with friends and family.
This digital skill meets the requirements of the Brilliant Labs Multi media badge.
Create a 3D prototype of the space debris invention / solution designed in the morning Maker Fun Challenge.

Machine Learning with mBlock
Computers have the ability to process information much faster than humans. What if they could be taught to learn like we can? Today’s video is all about creating models that can help our code to learn about different hand signals that represent peace.
We will be using the mBlock website to create our code: https://www.mblock.cc
We will be teaching our code using a technique called “supervised learning”, but there are other types of machine learning. To learn more about this interesting subject you can watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1wlC...
