Riverview Solar Light

Provide clean light and education to those in need.
Over the stoppage in school as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, I worked with Josh Keys to design and print a circuit board. In the process, he taught me how to design circuit boards, how to create 3D models of them and a lot about electrical engineering. After designing the theoretical board, I would assemble the components and find out what things worked and what did not. Today, we have professionally printed PCB circuit boards and have implemented test points and labels so that the future students assembling and receiving these boards can learn about electricity too.
My Robot
I made a bboard robot that drives with the controller.
1. I coded the microbit to control the wheel.
2. I created a remote with another microbit using a radio signal.
3. I then created 3d design that the servo wheel would fit in. I had to try a few times. I added some googly eyes for a finishing touch."
Video Arcade using Raspberry Pi
Creating video games using raspberry pi and creating a video arcade to play them on.
First the students created video games using the software raspberry pi. Then the students used the raspberry pi device to connect with a monitor, joystick and game buttons. Once that was accomplished, the students used cardboard boxes to make consoles to house the joystick, buttons as raspberry pi device.
Bubble Blower bBoard Edition
Students were to create an automatic bubble blower, it turned out an automatic bubble wand contraption for students to blow bubbles.
Students learned how to code to make the motors run. Then created their prototype. Many changes had to be made with the propeller part, in the end, students choose to opt-out of the propeller part and use younger kids to blow the bubbles. Regardless, students had fun creating!

Building a new birdhouse
This is a project to build a house for the birds in my backyard
"After researching on the web I discovered that each type of bird has certain features they like to see in a birdhouse. I wanted to build a house for a wren or a chickadee. The other bird houses in my backyard have starlings in it, which prefer a bigger hole and a bigger house. The birdhouse needed to be made out of natural products (wood), and with paint only on the outside. I chose not to put a perch as I read that birds can get in and out without one. The entrance hole for a wren is at 1 inch and 1/8th.
I drew the pieces of the bird house on a piece of paper with a ruler to make sure the pieces would fit together. Than I drew the lines on a wood board for my father to cut the pieces with a power saw. Then I marked the pieces in the locations they would be joined together using wood biscuits and glue.
Once the pieces were marked, my father used an electric biscuit joiner to cut the slots for the biscuits.
I them put all the pieces of wood for the bird house walls and bottom together with out glue, using the biscuits on their own just to make sure everything fit.
I then disassembled and reassembled the birdhouse walls, but this time also using wood glue and let the project dry overnight. The two pieces for the roof were added also using glue but with wood screws instead of biscuits. After painting the bird house in natural brown, I installed a metal frame under the house, so a long hollow metal pole could screw into it. We then planted the pole in the ground so that the birdhouse was high up, to keep birds safe."
