Brilliance in the making
If you are a maker educator, we know you are going to appreciate this conversation. In this episode, Jacob chats with children’s book author, Katey Howes. Katey joined us last week for a read aloud of her book “Be A Maker.” While publisher restrictions will not permit us to keep that read aloud active past June 30th, 2020, we wanted to capture her dedication to maker empowerment in another way. Over the next 36 minutes, Katey and Jacob discuss the role of empathy, collaboration and community in making. Ok - they actually talk about much more including a brief dialogue where they ponder the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in humanity’s drive to collaborate.
Here at Brilliant Labs, we are thrilled to find guests who are as passionate about making and intrigued about the pedagogical implications born from that maker journey. We hope you have a listen and share in this conversation via twitter or any of our other social media feeds.
We encourage you to take the time to pick up Katey’s book “Be A Maker,” and leave her a review letting her know what you think of her book. During the podcast, Katey also discusses a couple of her sources of inspiration that you may want to check out - those are linked below.
